Maui Sunset is a much larger community with 5 floors and 225 units. Prices at Maui Sunset are significantly higher, ground floor units start at about $480,000. Vacation rentals are also allowed at Maui Sunset. There are many more 2 bedroom units available at Maui Sunset which is an advantage but Waipuilani still wins if you want to own at a smaller, low density condominium. Waipuilani VS Leinaala
Leinaala is a similarly small complex with 4 floors and only 24 units. Vacation rentals are also allowed at Leinaala. Units at Leinaala are similar in size but the main appeal is that the building is configured to give every unit a great ocean view. Prices are much higher for a unit at Lainaala, the last sale was for a second floor unit which sold for $575,500. View is really the big advantage for Leinaala but Waipuilani still wins if you want to buy an affordable condo in Kihei.
