For some, Paia is an acclaimed destination for globetrotting windsurfers. For others, Paia is a nexus for bohemian community. Paia, more than any other town on Maui, is an exciting mix of everything. An old historical plantation town that whispers the story of Maui's early development while at the same time vivaciously singing the unfolding narrative of a progressive place where people awaken every day to see things different.
Where else but Paia will you see two adjacent cars parked at Mana Foods (the famous and much-loved health food store) that tell a story of Maui's cultural melting pot. The first car, owned by well-heeled country club member, has the bumper sticker that says "Welcome to Paia - please do not feed the hippies". The second car, owned by a new age yoga instructor, has the bumper sticker that says "Coexist" spelled using the icons from all the world's religions. The best part, both cars are Volkswagens!

Paia is the main town in North Shore Maui and is located only 10 minutes away from Kahului. The heart of the town is at the intersection of Hana Highway and Baldwin Avenue.
